Originally from Taranaki, Michelle has over 10 years’ experience in HR, Recruitment and Career Consultancy, both in New Zealand and the UK. Michelle has worked directly with commercial and industrial clients in staff recruitment, as well as providing one-on-one career counselling with students, and group facilitation in goal-setting, career planning, administering career inventories, job search, work placement and CV development. Previous employment within the disability field, assisting disabled individuals into suitable mainstream employment has further enhanced Michelle's career consultancy experience.

Returning to New Plymouth after completing tertiary study and working overseas, Michelle is now a mother of two, and relishing the challenges that come with balancing work and raising children.

Working in Purpose. Career Planning and Support as a Career Consultant for the past 5 years, Michelle completes vocational rehabilitation services for ACC clients, obtaining work trials and identifying suitable job options for clients with injuries, and providing job search coaching. Michelle also works with private clients and can provide assistance to clients in career-change, returning to work after raising children, teenagers leaving high school and those facing redundancy.

Michelle is passionate about working in the careers industry and being able to assist people in reaching their employment goals, fulfilling their potential and being able to feel a sense of contentment in both their working life, and subsequently, other aspects of their lives.

Jennie Miller, BBS, GCCD

Prior to Career Counselling, Jennie has a 20 year history of corporate work in marketing, market research, finance, and communications, in New Zealand and overseas. She has also dealt "at the coal face" as a director and shareholder of a successful Auckland business in the building industry. Jennie feels her broad knowledge of the world of work, combined with her study and experience in Career Counselling, give her the ability to understand and support people through their own career decision-making process.

An advocate of business and the individuals within it, Jennie is in a unique position to join her two fields of interest and expertise, business and career counselling, to provide career services to businesses and individuals.

Jennie has a broad base of work experience in the career development field, including corporate and government department contracts involving business restructures and closures, individual redundancies and internal career transitions, alongside vocational rehabilitation with ACC, private insurers' and Work and Income clients, and facilitating workshops and coaching second chance learners. In relation to private individual clients, Jennie loves working with teenagers planning their final year(s) at school and the transition to follow, as well as career changers, job seekers, and impending retirees planning for a fruitful and rewarding retirement. 

As a mother of a three, including one teenager gearing up for his own future, Jennie is passionate about contributing to the next generation through her work as a Career Counsellor, supporting people to make the most of their skills, interests and talents to live up to their potential, and lead fulfilling and inspirational lives. She believes that when you live positively in this way, it's not only you that benefits - your friends, family, workmates, and the community gain the ripple effect of your energy, enthusiasm, and productivity!
